We like to say that planning has two subcategories: Design and Event Management (also known as coordination). As designers, our job is to generate the overall look and feel of the event, gather the elements needed to execute that vision, and assemble a team responsible for bringing the vision to fruition. We focus on aesthetic and sensory details, while a coordinator handles logistics.
Yes, there's a bit of overlap, but design and coordination are two separate- but equally necessary- planning pillars.

Over the years we've found that our couples fall into two categories:
Group one's venue already provides a coordinator to generate the timeline, check in vendors, shuffle guests, and coordinate other logistics. But they don't come onboard until 30 days out and they don't handle design.
Group two is planning on their own from out-of-town, and their venue provides no planning help whatsoever, so the couple needs design help and a separate coordinator, which we're happy to recommend to them.

When you book any designer, you're booking an intangible service. We are serving you with our time, experience, vendor connections, email, consultations, proofs of concept (such as mood boards and digital renderings), studio time, and our presence for 8-10 hours on the day of your event. Our 2024 design fee is $3750 +tx.
Whether you choose to purchase your flowers and decor directly from us or from a vendor we recommend, goods are separate from design services. We send itemized invoices for goods purchased or rented for your wedding, so you always know exactly where your money is going.

We really want to focus on your wedding and only your wedding. We pride ourselves on truly getting to know you, and it's just not our style to churn out five events at once.
That's why we're super careful to make sure each and every couple with whom we form a partnership is a great fit for Idyllwild, and that Idyllwild is a great fit for them.
We ask for lots of input from you about what you're hoping to achieve. It's the best way to know if we're offering the best solutions!

It's best to onboard with Idyllwild just after you've chosen your venue and caterer, and at least a year before your wedding date. That way nothing is rushed, and you have plenty of time to make adjustments to your vision and account for supply chain issues.
You'll have your pick of vendors, we can visit your venue on or about your wedding date and get a real feel for the seasonality of your wedding, and we can really become familiar with one another.

Just like a wedding, it all depends on the scope and style of the event. If Idyllwild is a good fit in terms of theme, budget, and availability, we'll consider showers, rehearsal dinners, engagement parties, and other pre- and post-wedding events. But weddings are our happy place and thus our first priority. We love to see you love one another.
