Nestled in the green hills of the Catskills, this Roxbury Barn and Estate wedding editorial shoot is a celebration of frolicsome elegance. With warm copper tones, dusky peach petals, and the whisper of woodland breezes, we designed a wedding that feels like slipping into a dream.

There’s something deeply restorative about the Catskills in late summer. The fields are soft and golden, the light lingers just a bit longer, and there’s a hush that settles over the trees. It’s an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply, and dream. That feeling of natural escape is what inspired this nature lover’s wedding shoot at Roxbury Barn and Estate and East Branch Farms in Roxbury, NY.

We envisioned a wedding that felt painterly and windswept: Lush, romantic, and just a touch wild. Guided by a color palette of copper, peach, and ivory, the design echoed the warmth of the seasonal transition without relying on the usual fall motifs. These colors are often overlooked for autumn weddings, but they harmonize beautifully with both summer greens and changing foliage. Copper in particular brings a grounding richness that feels right at home among wood beams and wildflower fields.

The Roxbury Barn’s architecture echoes the vertical rhythm of the surrounding pines, while nearby East Branch Farms offers sprawling fields and wildflower-framed views. Together, they’re the perfect canvas for earthy romance.

Instead of leaning into the expected autumn hues, we embraced a softer, more painterly palette. Copper and peach paired with ivory and rust created an atmosphere that felt sun-warmed, soulful, and alive with possibility.

The Venues: Roxbury Barn & Estate and East Branch Farms
Roxbury Barn & Estate is a hidden gem nestled on 50 private acres in the Catskill Mountains. It’s a one-of-a-kind venue that offers five distinct settings, each brimming with character and positive energy. From the majestic pine grove ceremony site to the hilltop pavilion with panoramic mountain views, and the 1850s redesigned carriage barn perfect for dancing and lounging, every space is thoughtfully curated. The estate’s commitment to sustainability, diversity, and inclusivity makes it a welcoming space for all couples.
East Branch Farms, just a short drive away, provided the ideal backdrop for the couple’s preparation. The charming Greek Revival farmhouse, available for farm stays, offers peace and privacy amidst a working farm setting. With specialty produce and famous kimchi, the farm embodies a connection to the land that’s both authentic and inspiring. In particular, the vintage character of the spaces made it ideal for portraits, detail styling, and quiet morning moments.

Design Details for a Roxbury Barn and Estate Wedding: Floral, Fashion & Feeling
Our floral work leaned into softness and gesture—loose, flowing arrangements of peach dahlias, ivory spray roses, apricot tulips, bronze celosia, brown lisianthus, and foraged greenery that felt as though they’d grown into the scene naturally. The bouquet was an armful of movement and texture.
We styled florals in painterly tones- peach, rust, ivory, and taupe- complementing the season’s late blooms and the surrounding Catskills landscape. In this way, the arrangements reflected both the natural setting and the emotional tone of the day.

RB&E’s custom whitewashed tables ables were dressed up with copper chargers, can arrangements, depression glass bread plates, and edible favors with custom wax seals. We chose aged bronze vessels, and candles in vintage holders so the table could look elevated, yet relaxed. Everything was chosen with intention but styled to feel unstudied, like a gathering unfolding organically under the late summer sun.

The fashion choices also told a quiet story. Flowing fabrics, natural textures, and the rare ivory suit for our groom made the most of the golden-hour glow. Willow House Beauty provided effortless hair, makeup, and groom looks. It was all about ease and understated beauty. Nothing was too polished. Everything felt like it belonged.

Lounge Vignettes: A Moment of Repose
To enhance the sense of relaxed luxury, we designed a lounge vignette that invites guests to pause and savor the moment. We created a “moment of rest” as a visual and emotional anchor… a place to pause and breathe in the setting. Not only does this offer guests comfort, but it also allows the design to carry through with continuity.

Vintage furniture pieces in luxurious finishes created a cozy nook that blended seamlessly with the natural surroundings. This space became a favorite spot to unwind, reflecting the desire for an intimate and welcoming atmosphere that defines the venue’s typical clientele.

If you’re considering a lounge for your wedding, our two favorite places to put them are near the dance floor, where guests who don’t want to boogie can still feel the energy, and off in a quiet, conversation-friendly area. In this case, we put the lounge near the pond on outside the barn. Guests love to chat amongst the trees and visit with the frogs!
The Cake: A Sweet Reflection of the Theme
The cake, crafted by Marion at Mamie Brougitte Cakes, was a true work of art. Known for her elite artistic cakes, Marion creates each confection with carefully curated ingredients, handmade, one client at a time.
For this shoot, the cake featured delicate sugar flowers and fruit, and subtle autumnal hues that echoed our copper and peach palette, tying together the day’s aesthetic with elegance and grace. An artisanal cake can be a perfect distillation of your wedding aesthetic. As a result, it serves as more than dessert- it becomes a thematic bridge between style, mood, and season.

For the Dreamers
Ultimately, this shoot is for aesthetes and nature-lovers. For couples who want their wedding to feel like an escape- like slipping into a world where time slows down and beauty can be found in the simplest of places. Where the design doesn’t shout, but instead hums with feeling.
